Chicago-based advertising  and editorial food and product photographer  Colin Beckett is our PhotoServe weekly contest winner.  Christmas is over but we thought we had to show his interesting take on the holidays.  The image here is part of a series of three that Beckett has been creating this last month that  he calls The Grinch Series. It’s just a different  slant on holiday photos.  In November, Beckett was busy with  a new campaign he shot for Mike’s Hard Lemonade with Tris3ct that will be coming out in the summer. “I had a lot of fun working with the creative team building and testing all the summer-time props that we focused on for the shoot even though it was 25 degrees outside in Chicago,” says Beckett. We’ll just have to wait until summer to see all the cool tips and tricks they came up with. But for now, we still have  a little bit of Christmas.

"the snowman"
Here is the final image for my grinch series. Seems pretty fitting with the weather here in Chicago today and all of the melting snow. Happy holidays to everyone, be safe and have a great new year. "the snowman"

"the tree"
Part two of my holiday grinch series. This one ended up with an outtake from above of the fallen decorations. I also learned that breaking these “shatterproof” ornaments can cause quite the explosion. I’m still finding tiny bits of sharp Christmas fun on the floor.
The third and possibly my favorite of the three will be up at the end of the week. "the tree"

"the gift"

I wanted to do something in the holiday spirit, but with a little bit of a twist. So this is the first of three in a series that I’m calling my Grinch Series. Watch for the others in the next two weeks. Hope you enjoy.

Spent a couple days on the east coast in NYC and Boston. Ate some food, had some drinks, and took some photos. Good times with good friends.
